Another New UW Adventures Release - Darkwarrior - 11:06:48 PM EST |
The UWA Team has just released their latest version of the game, called "butterfinger." It includes a full character creation system, bug fixes, a Linux build, an installer for Windows and a configuration program.
Congrats to the UWA team!
There's some new Ultima Remake news that's turned up this past week. It's not much, but here it is:
The Ultima V remake team has announced that they've finally begun design work on the project after a long period of troubles with their website.
There's also a new interview with the team making the Ultima 6 Remake for Dungeon Siege. They get quite a bit of press attention for a project that was announced only a few months ago. ;)
Other than that, nothing is really going on in the remake community. Personally, I'm looking forward to the UR1's next tech demo.

Arx Fatalis Review at RPGDot - Dan - 7:23:31 AM EST |
Arx has a review! It's in english! RPGDot has reviewed the game, and have given it a 91% (and their platinum award.) This only goes to show how sensable the folks at RPGDot really are. ;)
Here's something they said:
So, I have told you a lot about the game now, but the most important question is: Is it fun to play? In one word: YES!
A great story unfolds, with some twists and turns, excellent atmosphere, great graphics and wits! Yes, you need all your wits in Arx Fatalis, more than in any other RPG I know. Arx Fatalis is the RPG with the highest number of puzzles and secrets, it is not a simple hack'n'slay RPG. Most puzzles or quests are solvable in more than one way, you can for example either fulfill the quest in the way the quest giver means it or steal the reward from the quest giver. You can play good or bad, and still can solve the game, which is what I call intelligent game design! Or, there is actually one level in the game, where there is only one (!) enemy, and this one enemy cannot be defeated by simple combat, but by using your wits Kudos, Arkane, very well done!
